Carreducker

Bespoke shoemakers crafting English handsewn shoes and boots by hand using centuries old techniques; selling shoemaking tools and materials online; teaching handsewn shoemaking.

We have been making bespoke handsewn shoes since 2004 and have taught handsewn skills to beginners and experienced makers alike since 2006.

We design and handcraft shoes and boots for men and women at our workshop in the iconic Oxo Tower building on London’s South Bank (between Waterloo Station and Tate Modern).

Every customer is unique and we design shoes to suit their style and lifestyle from dress shoes and Chelsea boots to deck shoes and sneakers. Ours is a modern aesthetic and sustainable approach, combining vegetable tanned leathers, tweeds, linens and hand stitched detailing with durable English oak-bark tanned leather soles and heels or repairable rubber soles.

You can see our making process at the Design Museum London, where we’re part of the permanent collection.

As shoemaking teachers we provide a strong foundation in the tools, skills and techniques of the handsewn craft and have taught hundreds of students from all over the world. Some continue to practice the craft vocationally and others have gone on to train with other makers and to establish their own businesses.

We offer part time and evening classes; hand lasting and hand welting courses; and a comprehensive 12-day shoemaking course; along with pattern and closing classes taught by Fiona Campbell. These course are unique opportunity to kick start your passion for shoemaking.
